I dag er det berre fest og gaman. Alle hyllar Obama. Men kva kan me forventa oss av denne mannen som no er vorten den mektigaste i verda? Heilt frå eg høyrde han første gong i fjor vår har eg hatt vanskar med å finna ut kva han står for. Han snakka mykje om forandring, men mindre om kva som skulle forandra seg. Nå veit me litt meir. Han vil ut or Irak, styrka krigføringa i Afghanistan, styrka diplomatiet, rekka ut ei hand til muslimane og inspirera til nasjonal dugnad og ansvarskjensle for å få den amerikanske økonomien opp og gå. Han vil gje alle amerikanrar ei kjensle av likeverd og av å stå saman for å nå felles mål, og vil bort i frå fokus på individuell suksess. Det er eit element av sunn moral i slik tale. Han vil ha oss til å tru at det umogelege er mogeleg. Det er han sjølv eit prov på. "Me kan," er vorten eit valspråk for han. Det er eit uttrykk for optimisme.
Dessutan rettar han ut handa til den muslimske verda, og ber dei om å opna knyttnevane og ta imot. Det er ein tone av forsoning slikt snakk.

Ingen "change" for dei. Han vil gjerne ha Jesus med på laget, men det hjelper så lite om han ikkje følgjer han i ei så enkel sak som å gå imot drap på vergjerlause foster.
Han sa heller ingenting om Israels kamp mot terror, sjølv om det er den det har handla om dei siste vekene. Kva kan me lesa ut or det?
